Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Chimney Cleaning Before & After in Orlando, FL
Photos do what promises can’t. A camera pushed up a flue shows you exactly what’s coating your chimney walls, and the same camera after the sweep shows it gone. That’s why every Hadley Chimney Orlando job includes before-and-after photo documentation, no exceptions, no extra charge. The Relay Visibility Guarantee means you see what we see. Here are the kinds of transformations our techs in Orlando handle every week.

Glazed Creosote Removal in a Winter Park Fireplace
Before
AfterThis chimney had stage two creosote (the flammable tar buildup that makes chimneys a fire risk) glazed onto the terra cotta flue liner like a hard candy shell. A standard brush sweep would have bounced right off it. We used mechanical removal with a rotary chain head to break the glaze, then followed with a standard brush pass to clear the debris. The after photo shows raw clay liner again, and the homeowner got every image before paying the invoice.
Bird Nest and Debris Blockage in College Park
Before
AfterAn un-capped flue in College Park had become a chimney swift nesting site over one spring. The blockage was significant enough that smoke was rolling back into the living room on startup. We removed the nest material, swept the flue clear, and installed a Copperfield chimney cap to keep future tenants out. The before and after photos documented not just the blockage but the fix that prevents the problem from repeating.
Heavy Soot Buildup in a Downtown Orlando Gas Fireplace
Before
AfterGas fireplaces don’t produce creosote the way wood fires do, but they absolutely accumulate soot, especially when the air-to-fuel mix is off or the logs have been repositioned incorrectly. This downtown condo unit had a thick black film on the logs and burner that was dulling the flame and producing an odor. We disassembled the log set, cleaned the burner ports, vacuumed the firebox, and checked the gas pressure. The flame after was blue and steady, and the photos showed a fireplace that finally looked like the amenity it was meant to be.
Smoky Fireplace with a Partially Collapsed Liner in Dr. Phillips

A routine sweep in Dr. Phillips turned into something more when the camera inspection revealed a section of terra cotta liner that had spalled, leaving gaps where heat and gases could reach the chimney structure. We showed the homeowner the footage on the spot. The repair involved a HeatShield ceramic compound application to resurface the damaged section, restoring a continuous flue path. The after photos show a uniform liner surface, and the repair carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise with a written guarantee.
Mold and Mildew Odor from a Humid Orlando Summer

Florida humidity does specific things to chimneys, especially ones that sit unused from May through October. This homeowner near Lake Eola called about a musty smell coming from the fireplace every time the AC kicked on. The sweep found damp creosote and surface mold on the flue walls. We performed the sweep, inspected the cap and crown for water entry, and recommended a top-sealing damper to cut the humidity exchange. The before and after images documented the moisture staining, and the owner now has a clear picture of what to watch for each fall.
Chimney Fire Damage Assessment in Altamonte Springs

A chimney fire doesn’t always announce itself with flames shooting out the top. Sometimes it’s a loud rumble, a smell like a hot asphalt driveway, and then it’s over before anyone fully registers what happened. This Altamonte Springs homeowner called us after exactly that experience. The camera showed expanded creosote that had honeycombed, plus hairline cracks in a section of the flue. We documented everything, completed a HeatShield repair on the damaged section, and swept the remainder of the flue. The wrote guarantee on this repair matters here, and the free second visit if it fails is part of the deal, not an add-on.
