Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Chimney Company in St. Cloud, FL
We’re Hadley Chimney Sweep, and we handle chimney sweeping, chimney repair, and gas fireplace repair across St. Cloud, FL. Homes here run the full spectrum: 1920s bungalows with original masonry chimneys near downtown, 1970s ranch houses, and newer subdivisions with prefabricated fireplace units. The older core of St. Cloud is where we do our most involved work, because those chimneys were built before modern liner standards existed. Call (904) 822-8172 if you need someone to take a look.
Why St. Cloud Homes Are Different
St. Cloud’s housing stock splits sharply by era, and the job changes depending on which side of that line you live on. Homes built between the 1920s and 1950s, especially in the historic downtown grid and along streets like Michigan Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue, typically have true masonry chimneys with clay tile or no liner at all. Those hold creosote differently than modern flues, and many have never been swept even once. Newer subdivisions on the east and south edges of town, like the developments off Canoe Creek Road, mostly have factory-built fireplaces with metal flues that rust in our humidity and corrode at the cap.
St. Cloud’s humid subtropical climate does two things to chimneys. Summer thunderstorms dump rain on caps and crowns already weakened by sun exposure, and the humidity accelerates rust on dampers, flashing, and chase covers. Winters are mild but fireplace season is real, and we see a lot of creosote (the flammable tar-like residue left by wood smoke) built up from low-temperature fires that never get hot enough to burn it off. In the older neighborhoods, unlined brick chimneys are the first thing we check, because a crack there lets heat reach wood framing.
Styles & brands we work with

Our Main St. Cloud Services
Most St. Cloud homeowners call us for one of three things: a chimney sweep before fire season, a repair after noticing a leak or cracked masonry, or a gas fireplace that stopped working. Each service has its own page with pricing and details.
Chimney Sweep in St. Cloud
A proper sweep in St. Cloud means removing creosote from the flue walls, clearing the smoke shelf, and checking the damper operates freely. In older downtown homes, we also inspect for missing liner sections and flue tile gaps, which are common in chimneys that have never been serviced. You’ll get photos of the flue before and after, and a written report of anything we find. Chimney Sweep in St. Cloud

Chimney Repair in St. Cloud
St. Cloud’s heavy summer rains expose cracks in crowns, deteriorated flashing, and rusted dampers quickly. We repair or replace each of those, and we frequently install stainless steel liners in older masonry chimneys that were built without one. The typical trigger is a water stain on the ceiling or a musty smell near the hearth. Chimney Repair in St. Cloud

Gas Fireplace Repair in St. Cloud
Gas fireplaces in St. Cloud range from simple vented log sets in older homes to direct-vent units and inserts in newer ones. Common failures here include thermocouples, pilot assemblies, and corroded vent components, which the humidity accelerates. We carry parts from Copperfield and Olympia Chimney to keep repairs moving.
